Software Update: Media Player Classic – Home Cinema 1.7.18

A year ago, version 1.7.13 of Media Player Classic – Home Cinema was released and the developers indicated that they will continue no more new versions were going to release. However, the source code is open source, and a developer known as clsid at the Doom9 website and a long-time involvement with mpc-hc now releases new “unofficial” versions from time to time. These only contain minor improvements and the latest version of the LAV Filters and MediaInfo is always included. The changelog for version 1.7.18 can be found below.

Changes/additions/improvements:

• Dragging the seekbar is now much more responsive.
• Further improved the behavior of fast seek (to keyframe).
• For example when using any of the jump hotkeys (such as RightArrow), the maximum inaccuracy is now 30% of jump size.
• Add multiple monitor support for ICC color management.
• Changed default subtitle font to Tahoma. This should fix a problem that causes certain Unicode characters to be displayed as squares.
• Support for parsing URLs with youtube-dl.exe to directly stream audio and video from Youtube and many other websites.
• It is recommended to put youtube-dl.exe in the MPC-HC directory or in the Windows directory (or any other directory that is in %PATH%).

Fixes:

• Fixed hiding of playlist when launching in fullscreen.
