McAfee Stinger is a small program that can neutralize 41 of the most common viruses, including all known variants. Stinger is not intended to protect your PC, but to disinfect an infected system on which no or a very old virus scanner is running (yet). The number of variants of existing viruses follows each other in rapid succession, which is why McAfee has released version 2.2.6 of Stinger:
