We found in our muksubmit the happy fact that in the 2.5 development tree of the Linux Kernel version 2.5.66 has appeared. Linus has this to say about this release:

A lot of changes all over. Most notably probably the fbcon updates, it’s really all over the map – mostly a lot of very small fixes.

Linus[break]Our submitter sums up the extensive changelog briefly together in the following words:[/break]Quickly the changes: [PATCH] inode a/c/mtime modification speedup: 2.4 by default passes a/c/mtime only 1x per second. On some file systems, these fields can contain changes of =1sec (ext2/ext3/reiserfs). Also some speed improvements for 1proc and SMP systems, updates for Alsa, XFS + many other things.
