Software Update: Linux Kernel 2.4.28

After no issues were found in the fourth release candidate of version 28 of the Linux 2.4 kernel, it has been declared final and released. Although the 2.4.x series has actually been superseded by the 2.6.x kernels and can no longer welcome new features, the vast majority of Linux systems still run a 2.4 variant. This new release contains some important bug fixes, including local root exploits. The complete changelog from version 2.4.28-pre1 to version 2.4.28-rc4 is unfortunately too large to post here, so we will suffice with a link to the page. Here’s the last bit from it:
