Growl is a useful program for the Mac OS X platform that allows the notifications of more than 120 other programs can be displayed on the screen. For example, the aMSN program can give a small pop-up when someone comes online and the YMail program gives you a pop-up with the message that new mail has arrived. The developers released Growl 0.7 a few days ago with the following announcement:

Growl 0.7 is now released into the wild! This release includes an awesome new feature, network notifications. Also included is the ability to make displays with CSS/HTML, which we are calling Styles. 0.7 includes several new displays: Crystal, Candybars, and Plain. Finally, 0.7 replaces the Installer package with double-click installation: simply double-click the prefpane on the disk image, and System Preferences will install it for you.
