Today a new version of ffdshow has been released in the form of 2004-07-09. This release is from here down and takes up just over two megabytes. This DirectShow filter can play DivX, XviD, WMV, MPEG1, and MPEG2 files. FFDShow uses the libav codec from the ffmpeg project for video decompression, mplayer’s postprocessing code for improved visual quality of low bitrate files, and is based on XviD’s original DirectShow filter.

Free-Codecs.com has compiled a ffdshow version for processors with SSE2 instructions. This version has its origins in the 2004-07-09 release and is from this server to download. Below are the changes of both the regular and the SSE2 variant:
