Download Fedora Core 5 Test 2
The developers behind Fedora have just released the second test release of Core 5. Fedora Core is a Linux distribution resulting from a collaboration between Red Hat and Fedora, and is based on Red Hat technology. The software is available from several mirrorsbut the developers recommend using bits and byts via BitTorrent to bring in. New features in this release include Gnome 2.13.4, KDE 3.5.0, the Beagle desktop search and F-spot, which enables photo management. GCC 4.1.0 is used as system compiler, which should improve performance and security. Below is a portion of the release notes:
The second test release of Fedora Core 5 is now available. New features in FC5 test2 include GNOME 2.13.4, KDE 3.5.0, Beagle desktop search interface, F-spot photo management application and Tomboy for creating quick notes. We now have a brand new look and feel. See here for a sneak preview. GCC 4.1.0 is the system compiler bringing in performance and security enhancements. x86, x86-64 and PowerPC(Mac) architecture is supported.
