Version 0.5.8.7 of Deluge was released on Tuesday. This Bittorrent client was developed by Zach Tibbitts and Alon Zakai, two members of the Ubuntu forum, and uses libtorrent and Pygtk. Although a version is also available for Windows, the program is primarily intended for Linux and Mac OS X. Deluge has everything you would expect from a Bittorrent client: Bittorrent protocol encryption, mainline dht, upnp, nat-pmp, µTorrent Peer Exchange and the ability to manage the program remotely through a web browser. The changelog for this release shows the following changes:

  • Bandwidth limiter fix
  • Various DHT fixes
  • Fix upload ratio not saving
  • Fix WebUI crash (ticket #89)

  • Fix keyboard scrolling or plugins
  • Scheduler can now handle number of active torrents, upload slots and max connections
