Dameware Development has released version 7.2.0.0 of Dameware NT Utilities. The programs are intended for remote management and administration of Windows workstations, servers and domains. The NT Utilities consist of a very extensive Active Directory Object Browser and the programs Mini Remote Control and exporter. The software can be fully tested for 30 days before purchase. The main changes in version 7 are support for ipv6 and nat traversal, there are separate 32 and 64 bit downloads of the Mini Remote Control and the program can be started from an external source, for example a USB stick. In version 7.2.0.0 only changes have been made to the Mini Remote Control.

Mini Remote Control:

• Minor Protocol Revision. Current v7.x users will not be forced to update the DMRC Client Agent Service on the remote machine, provided they are already running version 7.0 or above. However, we recommend you update the Client Agent on the remote machine as soon as possible. Otherwise, some features may not work properly. Version 6.x Clients will require a forced upgrade.
• Added command line to open DMRC Client Agent’s Reverse Connect dialog: DWRCS -carc
• Option to enable ?Copy DWRCS.REG configuration file” by default, instead of having to enable the checkbox each time.
• Enhancements to Encrypted Windows Logon & NT Challenge/Response authentication methods.
• Saved Host List would not expand on Windows 2000. Fixed.
• Failed Authentication using Encrypted Windows Logon for non-Admin users. Fixed
• Non-Saved (temporary) Host entries not added to Reconnect List, even when ?Only add Saved Host to Reconnect? disabled. Fixed.
• Tray Icon’s Settings Context menu could not be disabled, even when ?Enable Settings menu? was turned off. Fixed
• Connect via Invitation dialog, Browse (Open Invitation) would crash on 32-bit O/S. Fixed.
• SFT Shell Registration issues. Fixed.

MSI Builder:

• Fixed win9x package issues.
• Created new MSI templates for both x64 and x86 packages.
• Created new MSI templates for installation of the Proxy Service.
• Added code to reduce the size of the output MSI package, when no driver installers selected.
• Added functionality to remove Registry settings and application files on uninstall.
• Added button to open the output folder after build is complete.
• Added functionality to disable driver installer options when target is win9x.
• Added functionality to name the output MSI the same name as the profile.
• Added functionality to remember the location of the dialog and the selected tab.
