Software update: Caliber 2.23

Version 2.23 of Caliber has been released. Caliber is an open source and cross platform ebook management program. Among other things, it can look up all relevant information and cover images, and convert e-books to make them suitable for the various types of e-readers. Furthermore, the program can convert newspapers, magazines and news articles based on RSS feeds into e-book format. Books can also be purchased with Caliber at the well-known web stores. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

New Features

• Allow adding an empty ebook in various formats to existing book records by right clicking the Add Books button
• Add ability to create additional empty formats to the ‘Add empty book’ command
• News download: Add API to cleanly abort the download of an article during the preprocess stage based on the article’s contents.
• Update the version of Qt bundled with caliber to 5.4.1. This fixes various minor bugs, most notably, improving text rendering on linux.

• MOBI Input: Fix links not working in viewer for MOBI files that contain anchors placed on linebreak elements. Close tickets: 1439450
• Book details panel: Fix copying Path link by right clicking on it not working. Close tickets: 1437756
• Fix a regression that caused importing of a single book from a directory to fail if the directory has no ebook files in it
• Column Icons: Fix apostrophes in icon filenames causing errors. Close tickets: 1436690
• Edit Book: Fix a regression that caused Remove unused CSS to fail on invalid CSS selectors, instead of ignoring them
• Open With: Fix open with failing to get list of default programs on windows if the registry contains missing ProgIDs. Close tickets: 1434990
