Download BeOS 5 Max Edition 3.1 beta-1

The developers of BeOS Max have a new version of the operating system on their website posted† It concerns version 3.1 beta-1 and is from this page to download. BeOS Max Edition is based on the Personal Edition of BeOS, but unlike the original comes with a lot of drivers, add-ons, software and games. On the site, explained how to put the OS on a writable CD. Not all features of the final release are included in the beta.

The bootscreen has not been changed for this release, but it will be changed in the final.

Also the memory drive is not implemented at startup, but you have the option of creating on from the preferences panel.

Another thing we left out for now is the memory patch that allows the system to run under more than 1gb of ram.

The installed version includes the IDE replacement drivers by default as a user addon. You can disable them at bootup if you want to uninstall them by disabling the user addons and then running the installation. You will find them in the Other drivers directory on the Desktop.
