Download Avast Antivirus 6.0.989 Beta

Alwil Software has released a new beta release of version 6.0 of its antivirus program for the second time in a short time. The program is available in the free Avast Free Antivirus and the paid Avast Pro Antivirus versions. In addition, there is Avast Internet Security, which includes a firewall and anti-spam as extras. In version 6.0 we see improvements to the sandbox, there is a browser plug-in that can indicate the reputation of a website and there is SafeZone, a virtual environment for sensitive transactions. Below are the improvements made in this build:

What’s new in this beta build 989

• improved update from v5.x (Security Center registration, installation of WebRep plugins, installation of the gadget, …)
• improvements in the SafeZone (eg the Turn off command on 64-bit Windows, flash in the SafeZone browser , Alt+Tab processing etc)
• fixes in the gadget (especially on Vista)
• Welcome screen not shown by default anymore
• fixes in the Outlook plugin

Note:

• WebRep is currently available only for IE and Firefox (Chrome is coming soon).
