Download Audio Comparer 1.6 build 907
Bolide Software, known for All My Movies, All My Books and Image Comparer, released a new version of Audio Comparer on Saturday. With this program music files can be compared in order to detect duplicates. It doesn’t do this by looking at the name, file size, or tags; the files are really ‘listened’ according to Bolide Software. This would make it irrelevant what format or bitrate the file is.
Audio Comparer can handle mp3, wma, wav, flac, aac and ogg files and a license costs, after a recent price increase, about 26 euros. In this release, iTunes support has been added, among other things, and the result of a compare command can now be exported to a CSV file. The full changelog of this release looks like this:

- “It is another song” popup menu item for removing the selected song from the similar group in the results
- Belorussian and Bulgarian interface translations
- “Album” and “Comments” columns to the results grid
- Displaying current playback time in the statusbar if the built-in player used
- Hotkeys for working with the results without mouse
improved:
- Playback starts from the previous position when the current song is changed. Easier to compare several songs with your own ears now
Fixed:
- Fixed the bug with not showing Unicode file names in the confirmation window
