Apple has a patch released for its Remote Desktop. The update is for Mac computers equipped with OS X 10.1 and later. Among other things, this version provides faster data transfer between computers on 100BASE-T networks. In addition, the developers have overhauled the program and made way for additional icons and status indicators. The full changelog is up this page can be found and looks like this:

These are some of the enhancements delivered with the Apple Remote Desktop v1.2.4 Update:

• Large files copy up to 30 percent faster on 100BASE-T networks.
• Improves performance when using the Observe, Control, or Sharing screen on 100BASE-T networks.
• Includes new Apple Remote Desktop menu, additional icons and status indicators.
• Includes a new command line tool can be used in lieu of the GUI preference pane.
• Includes new defaults keyword AdminConsoleAllowsRemoteControl, which allows you to administer a client that is also running the administration application.
• Computer status windows no longer “flicker” when Apple Network Assistant 3 clients are present.
