Software Update: AkelPad 4.8.0

Version 4.8.0 of AkelPad has been released. This fast open source text editor is less than 400KB unpacked, but still has an extensive range features. It can be used as a replacement for the Notepad or Notepad supplied with Windows, but also for programming. Through plugins add additional functionality, including syntax highlighting, autocompletion, scripts, and macros. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Changed:

  • Command that moves caret to opposite end of selection now has code 4198.

Added:

  • Command 4199 – move caret to previous location.
  • Command 4200 – move caret to next location.

Fixed:

  • File opening in DBCS codepage (WinVista/7).
  • ^, $, \b, \s metacharacters processing in regular expressions.
  • Variables “%cap[text]”, “%num[text]” or manual parameter “StatusUserFormat” didn’t updated when switching to AkelPad from a different application.
  • Variables of manual parameter “StatusUserFormat” didn’t updated when switching between tabs (MDI/PMDI).
  • Switching focus when IME window active.
  • Error when splitting window.
  • Restore main window from minimized state cause split window resizing (SDI/PMDI).
  • Active line border on alternate line painting.
  • Print preview when using background for printing.
