After four beta releases, we have now arrived at the first release candidate of version 3.50 of media player AIMP. This free Russian-made lightweight media player has support for the most popular music formats. The appearance is somewhat like Winamp and can be adjusted by means of skins. AIMP has an 18-channel equalizer on board and supports plugins. Furthermore, the program can rip CDs, convert music files and edit tags.
In version 3.50, performance has been improved, among other things. The control panel has also changed, which also means that version 2.x configuration files are no longer supported. Furthermore, the options for customizing the program’s appearance have changed. A separate skin editor can here are being found. The changelog for this release looks like this:

- Common: The cover art search now processes the “Cover” and “Scan” subfolders

- Common – player ignores “SONGWRITER” field in CUE sheet
- Audio Converter does not write information about replaygain for album to CUE-sheet
- Tag Editor – the “skip this file” option doesn’t work in the “Rename” dialog
- Skin Engine – position of pinned window calculates incorrectly, if master window is docked to main window
- Skin Engine – position of equivalent containers calculates incorrectly in some cases
- Skin Engine – bugs in time formatting function
- Skin Engine – elements placed on hidden container still visible in some cases
- QFI – click on cover art display opens temporary copy of image instead of original
