Download Ad-Aware 9.5.1

Lavasoft has released version 9.5 of Ad-Aware and in the meantime a small update has also appeared. This antispyware program can detect and remove malicious software and suspicious cookies, and now includes an antivirus function. Ad-Aware is available in Free, Pro and Total Security flavors. Among other things, the Pro version should offer better real-time protection and has the ability to remove rootkits. Finally, Total Security has a lot of extras, including a firewall and spam protection, it can make backups and optimize the PC. The different editions will be published on this page clearly contrasted. In version 9.5, the program has become especially faster and the download is a lot smaller. Some things are still retrieved from the internet during the installation, but in the end it saves tens of megabytes.

We are proud to release Ad-Aware 9.5, which offers a significant increase in performance. Internal testing suggests that it is 4-8X faster than our previous version. It also includes a completely new malware detection method – taking our legendary spyware removal to a completely new level – which will make it one of the most efficient engines at fighting zero-day malware.

This past winter, we released Ad-Aware 9 which reduced the size of the installer from 130MB to less than 12Mb – with a silent download portion that totaled less than 80Mb total.
