Software Update: 7-Zip 3.11

7-Zip is a program that allows you to compress and decompress files, it is developed by the same person as the compression method 7z. The program supports files compressed with the following methods: 7z, zip, cab, rar, arj, gzip, bzip2, tar, cpio, rpm and deb. Version 3.11 was recently released and has the following changelog:

• 7-zip now uses limitations for solid block size for increasing speed of random file decompressing:
  • in Store mode: 0 B
  • in Fast mode: 16 MB
  • in Normal mode: 256 MB
  • in Maximum mode: 1 GB
  • in Ultra mode: 4 GB
• 7z.exe, 7za.exe and SFX modules now support Unicode file names under Windows NT/2000/XP/2003. 7zn.exe and 7zan.exe were removed from package.
