Qihu 360 has released a new version of Total Security Essential. This free Chinese-made virus scanner uses several engines to scan files for malicious code. For example, there is a cloud engine, Qihu’s own QVMII and it uses technology from Avira and Bitdefender. Furthermore, there is a sandbox and it shows no ads, something that the free products of competitors often do. Qihu 360 has been accused in the past by independent test companies of manipulating the tests in order to come out better and is therefore no longer included in the monthly comparison tests, but the program does its job well. In version 7.2, support for Windows 10 has been added, among other things.
- Fully support Windows 10
- Windows 10 Styled Skin
- Data Hijacking Protection
- Malicious root certificate cleanup
- Bug fixes
