Last Friday, the second beta release of version 1.8 of the hugely popular BitTorrent client was released. µTorrent is a full-featured Bittorrent client that doesn’t put too much of a strain on memory and processor. The size of the program is also minimal. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

change:

• Better error messages on bind failure
• Clear peer traffic logging options on startup (fixes noisy logging after 1.7 upgrade)
• Diskio.smart_sparse_hash for broken file systems (like Windows Home Server)

Fix:

• UNC and long path parsing
• More “Invalid Parameter” errors when drives are not present when the torrent is added
• DHT dump buckets formatting for large numbers
• Black progress bar on 0 byte files
• Enable/Disable Feed option on All Feeds item
