Capcom will release the Separate Ways expansion for the Resident Evil 4 remake on September 21. The Mercenaries mode will also receive an update on the same day with new playable characters. Sony announced this during the State of Play on September 14.

Separate Ways tells the story of Ada Wong parallel to the events of the main game. Players follow the story in this way from both Ada’s and Leon’s points of view. This requires ‘filling in unanswered questions from the main story’.

In addition to the weapons from the main game, Ada Wong has a grappling gun, which can be used to reach different locations and take out enemies from a distance. The characters Luis Serra and Albert Wesker also make an appearance.

Furthermore, Ada and antagonist Albert Wesker will become playable in The Mercenaries mode from September 21. This free DLC is available to all RE4 players. A VR mode of the RE4 remake will also be coming to the PlayStation VR2 headset ‘this winter’. This mode is also free for players with the main game. Resident Evil 4 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
