Samsung will launch a 5G smartphone in the US in collaboration with Verizon. It was already known that such a 5G phone is in development, but a release period was still unknown. Details about other specs are not yet known.

According to The Verge, Samsung and Verizon will jointly present the phone during the Snapdragon Technology Summit in Hawaii. There they can use Qualcomm’s X50 5g modem during a demonstration of the connection. Samsung is also developing a 5G modem. According to the manufacturer, this is the first modem to support the latest version of the 5G standard.

Besides the fact that the smartphone will support 5g, there is still relatively little known about the phone itself. Bloomberg mentioned in October that Samsung was in talks with Verizon about a 5G version of the Samsung Galaxy S10. In September, there was already a rumor that a 5G version of the Galaxy S10+ will also be coming.
