Nvidia leaker kopite7kimi has released new specifications of the GeForce RTX 4080. It would not have a tbp of 420W, but only 340W. The device would also have 16GB GDDR6X at 23Gbit/s.

the leaker mentions in a tweet a number of newly leaked specifications of the upcoming RTX 4080. It has an AD103-300-A1 GPU, which is based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. It is striking that the card would have a total card power of 340W. Initially, leaks indicated that the card would have a tbp of 420W, but now kopite7kimi says that Nvidia has changed the tdp to 340W.

The RTX 4080 would also get 16GB of GDDR6X vram, more than the current GeForce RTX 3080 which has 10GB or 12GB of that memory. Its speed would be 23 Gbit/s. Previous leaks indicated that the card might have 21Gbit/s memory, although it is now also known that memory manufacturer Micron has started mass production of faster GDDR6X memory. The card would also receive 9728 CUDA cores. There are fewer as predicted before; that would initially be 10,240.

In the run-up to a new generation of GPUs, video card manufacturers are going through several possible configurations in order to evaluate price and performance. Prior to the release, Nvidia therefore changes the specifications of its upcoming GPUs several times, also writes VideoCardz, which was able to verify some of kopite7kimi’s new information with its own anonymous sources. Kopite7kimi shared early in 2020 the correct specifications of Nvidia’s RTX 30 series.
