Rumor: Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell versions coming for Oculus glassesus

VR versions of Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell will be released for Oculus glasses. That reports tech site The Information based on an anonymous source. The games should boost sales of the glasses.

Ubisoft and Facebook do not want to confirm the agreement, reports The Information. The site is known for being reliable. It is unknown whether it is a variant of existing versions of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell and an Assassin’s Creed game or whether they should be completely new variants of those games. Facebook has a total of nearly $1 billion left to buy game developers and exclusive rights to games.

If Facebook were to take the step, it would presumably want to boost demand for Oculus headsets by having games developed for them. Few major games have been released in VR versions so far. Respawn and Oculus are working on a shooter, about which both companies will announce more in September.
