Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is the first game in the series to be shipped more than ten million times worldwide, according to publisher Capcom. According to the company, that number was partly reached by the successor, which appeared in a bundle with Biohazard.

Capcom has hit 10 million units shipped four and a half years after its release: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was released in January 2017 for PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows. Three months after its release, 3.5 million copies of the horror game had been shipped, making sales slower than the publisher expected. Despite this, Capcom then expressed the expectation that Biohazard would be delivered a total of ten million times. Every year since its release year, the game has been shipped more than a million times, according to Capcom now.

Capcom says it has made price cuts and bundled the game with its successor, Resident Evil Village from May 2021, to keep sales up. According to the company, Resident Evil 5 and 6 from 2009 and 2012, respectively, have both been delivered 7.9 million copies. The franchise’s best-selling title to date was the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2, with 8.6 million copies.
