Release Oneplus One delayed again due to certification issues
The release of the OnePlus One in Europe has again been delayed. A problem with the mandatory CE certification means that the manufacturer still has to make adjustments before the device can be released on the market.
It’s a problem with the CE certification logo, Ireland’s Technology Blog found. OnePlus is said to have placed the CE logo incorrectly on the case, causing shipments with the One smartphone to be held up at customs; the font of the CE logo is said to have been adapted by OnePlus to better match the rest of the text on the phone. The Chinese manufacturer must now first place the official logo before the One can be sold in Europe.
In a response via Facebook, OnePlus told Ireland’s Technology Blog that it will take approximately two weeks to fix the CE logo error. The company is said to be in the process of restoring the logo on the back of the One smartphone.
OnePlus announced the One in April, but it has not been going smoothly with the release for a while. Earlier, the manufacturer already postponed the release to make a software fix for the Heartbleed bug. In addition, interested parties can only buy the smartphone by invitation for the time being. The One stands out for its relatively low price of 269 euros, while it has high-end hardware with the Snapdragon 801 soc and a 5.5 “screen with full HD resolution.
