Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran, the original makers of the popular ’24’ series, seem to work together again to write the script of a new series around 24. According to The Hollywood Reporter the next part in this franchise will become a prequel to tell the story of Jack Bauer and especially how he became the Jack Bauer that we all know from 24.
From 2001 to 2010 there were a total of 8 season of 24. In this counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer knew to deal with a whole range of different threats and the story always played out, as the title suggests, within 24 hours.
In addition to Surnow and Cochran, executive producer Howard Gordon joined the two to further elaborate the idea. According to sources, an “ongoing series” will become, meaning that several seasons will follow, and there will be no end in sight for the time being. This in contrast to 24: Legacy and 24: Live Another Day.
CTU and Kiefer Sutherland?
The next series of 24 is unlikely to play in and around CTU. And the question is also whether Kiefer Sutherland will return. Because the series responds to the creation of Jack Bauer, he is probably already a few years too old. Does not mean that they will give him a role on the sidelines.
Anyway, a series around the creation of Jack Bauer for everyone who has seen every season of 24 is of course good news.
And to finish a bit of the real Jack;)
