Developer PUBG Corp. announced that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting a third map. This will be part of the innovations that should be released in the first half of this year.

Details about the third map, the developer does not mention. PUBG Corp. just says it’s on the roadmap for additions to the game in the first half of this year. The developer has not yet said what the exact plans are. In March, the company will announce what exactly is on the roadmap.

PUBG Corp. mentions the arrival of the third map in a post on Steam about the progress of the PC version of the game. The developer says that early this year, the development of new features was put on the back burner, as the focus was shifted to banning cheaters.

In December, the developer said it was considering a maximum ping limit, the arrival of which has been delayed due to the focus on countering cheaters. PUBG is now getting an experimental method that should work better than the suggested ping limit. Players are matched based on their ping. PUBG Corp. says it is preparing to try this method in some regions, the first test will start this week, on the test server.

According to the report, there were also “other reasons” that prevented the developer from releasing the 2018 roadmap. Whatever those reasons are, PUBG Corp. not clear. The developer does mention that more improvements and adjustments are planned that should deepen the gameplay and make the game more realistic.
