Photos show Nvidia prototype of quad slot GPU cooler with extra fan in heatsink
Photos have resurfaced of an unreleased Nvidia GPU prototype. These photos show a quad slot cooler with a third fan hidden in the middle of the heatsink. Similar photos of that cooler previously appeared, although the inside was not previously visible.
The photos have been republished by Goofish user Hayaka, commented @harukaze5719. The cooler has a small extra fan that was hidden in the heatsink to generate extra airflow. The cooler also has 22 heat pipes and a vapor chamber to distribute the heat from the GPU and VRMs over the cooling surface of the cooler.
The video card has a single 12Vhpwr connection, which can deliver power up to 600W. According to previous rumors, Nvidia was working on a GeForce RTX 4090 Ti with a TBP of 600W, although the release plans for that card would have been deleted by now. This may be a prototype cooler for the RTX 4090 Ti, which is therefore not expected to appear again.
Hayaka previously showed photos of this GPU cooler, although the inside was not previously visible. This Goofish user may also own the complete cooler prototype. It is not known whether the user also owns the video card PCB; At least Hayaka hasn’t shown this yet.
