Photo shows alleged GeForce RTX 3070 GPU for laptops

A photo has appeared showing a quality sample of a new Nvidia GeForce GPU for laptops. It would be the mobile version of the RTX 3070. The GPU is combined with 8GB GDDR6 memory. Photo via The gpu, which can be seen on the Chinese forum NGA, is codenamed GA20-E5 A1. The GA20 designation has previously been associated with RTX 30 mobile video cards. Notebookcheck has three GA20 variants in its database, for the laptop variants of the RTX 3080, 3070 and 3060.The GPU is combined with eight H56C8H24AIR memory chips from SK Hynix. That is GDDR6 memory and the use of eight chips indicates a 256bit memory bus and a capacity of 8GB vram. The same chips are also on the AMD Radeon Pro 5500M video card, which is included in some MacBook Pro models. With the Radeon card the memory is clocked at 12Gbit / s, but it is not certain whether this will be the same with the mobile RTX 3070. It is not clear how many Cuda cores the mobile RTX 3070 has and what the GPU clock speed is . The laptop video card would be based on the GA104 GPU, just like the RTX 3070 for desktops. That GPU has a maximum of 6144 Cuda cores, but with the desktop version 5888 are enabled. According to Notebookcheck, the mobile RTX 3080 will also use the GA104 chip and therefore have a maximum of 6144 cores. The desktop version of that card uses the larger GA102 GPU, with 8704 enabled Cuda cores. It is common for laptop variants to use different GPU configurations than desktop video cards. According to VideoCardz, Nvidia would like to announce the RTX 30 mobile cards early next year.
