Ordina: employees showed ‘inappropriate behaviour’ during tenders

Ordina has established that various employees have exhibited ‘inappropriate behaviour’ during tenders. The ICT company also admits for the first time that employees exchanged confidential information during tenders.

Ordina remains unclear about what information was shared, but admits that at least one employee knew that he or she was doing something wrong. “In another case, an Ordina employee was requested to delete an email from the Sent Items folder. This confirms the suspicion that the person concerned knew that the contents of the email could be unauthorized.”

Of the people who showed the ‘inappropriate behaviour’, three are still employed by the ICT company. “Inappropriate behavior does not fit Ordina. It will not be tolerated. Employees who have shown inappropriate behavior will be subject to disciplinary measures.” In addition, Ordina is introducing an ‘integrity programme’, in which employees are told what is appropriate behaviour, after which Ordina promises to test it.

Despite these confirmations and measures, Ordina continues to deny that ‘systematic irregularities’ occurred in tenders between 2005 and 2010. The results that the company now shares are preliminary results and not yet the result of a completed investigation.

Ordina came under fire last week, when TV program Zembla devoted a broadcast to Ordina’s irregularities in government ICT tenders. That broadcast was made possible by information from a whistleblower, who gave internal documents and e-mails from Ordina to the TV program.
