Musician Will.i.am comes with his own smartwatch
American musician Will.i.am has announced a ‘smart’ watch. A SIM card can be placed in the so-called Pulse to be able to call and send messages with the smartwatch. A connection with a smartphone is therefore not necessary.
The Puls has 1GB of RAM, as well as 16GB of flash storage. An unspecified Qualcomm processor is also included in the Puls. The watch can accommodate a sim and the wearer is able to communicate with the internet via 3g, although a WiFi chip is also present. Although a smartphone is not strictly necessary, the two devices can be synchronized with each other.
The Puls runs on Android, although the specific wearable version Android Wear would not have been chosen. According to Will.i.am, who wants to market the smartwatch through his start-up i.am+, his Puls watch offers, among other things, access to streaming music services thanks to the internet connection. The watch also contains small speakers to play music, a pedometer is present and a GPS chip is not missing. The price for the smartwatch has not yet been announced.
