Wearers of a Moto 360 smartwatch report that their smartwatch has a significantly longer battery life after a recent firmware update. In some cases, the ‘smart’ watch would last about twice as long on a full battery.

The reports about the improved battery life can be read on Reddit. Wearers of Motorola’s smartwatch say that firmware update 1.0.1.1448224, which has been rolled out over-the-air in recent days, has a remarkably positive effect on battery life. For example, the smartwatch could last for two days with regular use, while before the update many users complained about an empty battery within a day. Also in the ambient mode, where the watch continuously shows the time, but with a dimmed screen, the battery would last longer.

It is not entirely clear which improvements Motorola has implemented in the Android Wear firmware to significantly increase the battery life. However, apps on the Moto 360 would run smoother thanks to improvements in the Android Wear firmware.
