Microsoft shows new images of Fable reboot, but does not yet share a release date

Microsoft has dropped a new trailer for its upcoming Fable reboot. The game was already announced in 2020, although Microsoft shared few details about the game at the time. Fable is made by Forza Horizon developer Playground Games.

Microsoft showed the Fable trailer on Sunday evening during its Xbox Games Showcase. The trailer features Dave, a vegetable-loving giant played by IT Crowd actor Richard Ayoade. Dave expresses his thoughts on heroes, which features the game’s main character. The trailer also appears to show brief gameplay footage, including a battle with a group of bandits.

The game is once again set in Albion, as can be seen from the description of the trailer. The video showed few other concrete details about the game. Microsoft also does not share a release date yet. The company does report that the game will be released for Windows PCs and the Xbox Series X and S.

Fable will be the fourth major game in the Fable series and the first mainline title in the franchise since 2010’s Fable 3. In the meantime, a number of spin-offs have appeared in the Fable series, including Fable Heroes. The upcoming game is a reboot, which was first announced in 2020. The game is being developed by Playground Games, a studio best known for the Forza Horizon series.
