Microsoft is working on Windows 10 for 512MB smartphones
Windows Phone phones with 512MB of memory will probably get Windows 10 anyway. Microsoft’s ‘ambition’ is to make the new Windows version compatible with those phones.
On Twitter say Joe Belfiore, the corporate vice president of the Operating Systems Group at Microsoft, that Microsoft is working to support 512MB phones for Windows 10, including the Lumia 520. He doesn’t confirm its arrival yet, but does say it’s “ambition ’ of the company is to make Windows 10 for such phones. However, the functionality of Windows 10 can vary per device, he warns.
Initially, it was rumored that Windows 10 would not be available for phones with 512MB of RAM, but last week gave a Microsoft employee already suggested that the first preview version of Windows 10 would work on the 512MB phones. That first preview should come in February, confirmed Belfiore again. The test version will initially be available for a limited number of phones, thus Belfiore; some phones don’t get the preview version until later. The version can be tested by participants in the free Windows Insider program.
