Microsoft has integrated Snapchat Lens filters into Teams for use in video meetings. The filters are in the classic app and not in the new preview version that came out a few weeks ago.

It concerns a total of more than twenty Snapchat filters, says Microsoft. They’re under ‘video effects’ and then the ‘more’ menu, the description shows. Then Teams applies the filter to the user’s video.

The software uses Snap’s Camera Kit to integrate the Lenses. Previously it was necessary to install the Snap Camera app for this, but with the integration that is no longer necessary. According to Microsoft, users can express themselves better thanks to the addition of the filters. Its use is not necessary, the software maker emphasizes. Admins can disable the feature.

In addition, it is necessary to use the classic version of Teams and not the new preview version. There are currently no Snapchat Lens filters in it. Whether and when that will come is currently unknown. It is also unknown what partnership Microsoft and Snapchat have and whether either party pays the other for this integration.
