Microsoft accidentally confirms Surface Mini
Microsoft accidentally confirmed that it is, or has worked, on a Surface Mini. The tablet was mentioned by the tech giant in the user guide of the Surface Pro 3, which was recently announced. Earlier rumors reported that the Surface Mini had been scrapped.
Microsoft expert Paul Thurrott discovered the references to the Surface Mini in the user guide for the Surface Pro 3 and reported his find on Twitter. In the manual in question, which seems to have been taken offline, in addition to the Surface Pro 3, the Surface Mini was also mentioned a number of times. This supports previous rumors that Microsoft was planning to announce both tablets at the same time. Despite the persistent rumors, the Redmond company has never been willing to confirm that it had a Surface Mini in development.
The reason for the lack of an announcement for the Surface Mini would be that Microsoft believes that the tablet is not distinctive enough. It is therefore still unclear whether the references in the user manual for the Surface Pro 3 mean that the mini-tablet will appear later, or whether it is a carelessness that Microsoft has forgotten to polish away.
The Surface Pro 3 was announced by Microsoft last month. The tablet has a 12 “touch screen and is available with a Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processor. The cheapest model is 819 euros asked. It has 4GB ram and 64GB storage memory.
