Logitech will no longer use the Blue brand name when naming products

Logitech will no longer release products with the Blue brand name. Blue Microphones started as an independent company in 1995. Logitech bought the recording equipment maker in 2018. ‘Blue’ will still be used to indicate the names of technologies.

Bluemic.com now redirects to the Logitech website. On the product pages the change has also already been implemented, although there is still a ‘Blue’ logo on the physical products. It is not clear whether this will be adjusted in the future. The products under the Astro line are now also sold as part of Logitech G, but they still retain the Astro brand name. The manufacturer does not mention a reason for this difference. Furthermore, the Logitech for Creators brand, which will also be merged into Logitech G, will also disappear. The separate social media accounts of the three brands will be inactive from July 7.

The Blue Microphones brand has now been around for 28 years. Microphones, headphones, preamplifiers and shock mounts have been released under this brand. Logitech acquired the company in 2018 for $117 million. The company’s co-founder, Skipper Wise, late told The Verge know that it is a shame that the brand name is now largely disappearing, but says he has to ‘accept’ it because he has sold the company.

From now on, this Blue Yeti Pro will be known as ‘just’ Yeti Pro
