Following Samsung, LG will also launch a micro LED TV. In such TVs, each pixel consists of individual LEDs. It will be a TV that consists of several panels and can be customized, up to 136″ with a 4k resolution.

LG briefly mentions the microLED TV in its CES presentation on YouTube. The company says that these are TVs that can be resized to the environment and LG only mentions the size of 136″ and the 4k resolution. With microLED TVs, making small TVs is a challenge because there are very small LEDs must be used Adjusting and installing those millions of LEDs makes the TVs very expensive.

Samsung is so far the only manufacturer to market microLED TVs for home use. This year Samsung will release models of 110″, 101″ and 89″. Both LG and Samsung say nothing about the prices of the new microLED TVs. The first version that Samsung released at the beginning of 2021 cost 129,000 euros in South Korea.

LG briefly mentions the microLED TV in its CES 2022 presentation. Video starts with that clip.

It is not the first time that LG has shown a microLED TV. At the end of 2020, the manufacturer introduced its first TV based on that technology under the name Magnit. That was a 163″ model with 4k resolution, aimed at commercial use. LG showed the video below about that model at the beginning of last year. It is not known to what extent the 136″ variant for ‘home use’ is based on it.
