LG introduces 27″ IPS monitor with 240Hz refresh rate
LG announces a new 1080p gaming monitor with a refresh rate of 240Hz. The screen has a 27″ IPS panel with an FHD resolution and according to LG the response speed is 1ms. The monitor will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.
The LG 27GN750 is an IPS screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The refresh rate of 240Hz makes this screen especially interesting for avid gamers. The feature is an advantage with games with high frame rates, but not with movies, for example, as they are often displayed at 24 or 30 frames per second.
In addition, the 27GN750 is Nvidia G-Sync Compatible. This means that this display supports VESA Adaptive Sync, which is better known as FreeSync from AMD. Adaptive Sync ensures that the screen adapts to the frame rate that is achieved in a game thanks to the GPU. This leads to less flickering and image artifacts. LG does not indicate within which range the screen can adapt to the achieved frame rates.
The 27GN750 can display 99 percent of the sRGB color space. The monitor also supports HDR10 and has a brightness of 400cd/m². It also contains two HDMI connections and one displayport connection.
The 27GN750 is part of LG’s Ultragear series. Earlier this year, LG already introduced two monitors in this series. The 27GN750 will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year. The price is still unknown.
