Insta360 releases GO 2 action camera of 27 grams for 320 euros

Insta360 releases the GO 2, a successor to the mini action camera GO. The action camera weighs 26.5 grams and shoots stabilized 1440p video at 50fps. The camera has an improved sensor and, according to the manufacturer, a better image quality than the previous model.

The Insta360 GO 2 measures 52.9×23.6×20.7mm, making it small compared to other action cameras. The camera comes with a charging case that is very similar to charging cases for wireless earbuds. This case has multiple functions; First of all, the case fully charges the camera in 65 minutes, in addition, the case serves as a tripod and external battery, with which the battery life can be extended from 30 to 180 minutes in standard video mode, or slightly shorter in Pro Video mode. The case can also be used to connect the camera to the phone and the supplied app.

Compared to the first Insta360 GO, the GO 2 has a new 1/2.3″ sensor and a lens with an aperture of f/2.2. By default, the GO 2 records stabilized video with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels or 1920×1080 pixels with 50 or 30fps and with a maximum bitrate of 80Mbit/s.The camera also has an HDR mode with 25 or 24fps.In addition, the camera can shoot timelapse, hyperlapse and slow motion videos.

Also an improvement over the previous model is that the GO 2 is waterproof with an IPX8 rating, which means that the camera can be submerged more than a meter under water. The previous model of the GO was only splash-proof. The case of the GO 2, on the other hand, is not waterproof.

The Insta360 GO 2 is for sale for 320 euros, or 344 euros with a selfie stick. For an extra 10 euros, users can choose one of 26 skins for the front of the camera. You can also supply your own design. The charging case is included as standard, as are a magnetic hanger to hang the camera around the neck, a stand and a charging cable. Insta360 warns that people with pacemakers should not use the magnetic neck pendant.
