HPE signs agreement with Juniper on acquisition for 14 billion dollars

Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Juniper Networks have entered into an acquisition agreement. HPE wants to acquire the network equipment maker for $40 per share, which amounts to a total of $14 billion.

In a blog post the companies explain that Juniper CEO Rami Rahim will remain as boss of the future HPE networking division, while HPE CEO Antonio Neri will retain his current position within the company. According to the companies involved, the acquisition should be completed by the end of 2024 or early 2025, subject to approval by competition authorities such as the FTC. It is not yet clear how the companies will organize their services and products after the acquisition, although the emphasis in the linked press release is on AI applications for network equipment, products and services.
