HP has launched a new platform called CloudStart that includes hardware and software as well as consulting services. CloudStart should simplify and speed up building a private cloud.

According to HP is increasingly choosing to transform traditional data centers into private clouds. Then they may hire additional capacity from external service providers, such as Amazon EC2, creating a so-called hybrid cloud. With CloudStart, HP believes it can help companies with this process. Using CloudStart a functioning cloud environment can be built within thirty days, according to HP.

The services will be provided by HP’s Cloud Consulting Services division. The computer manufacturer will also offer its StorageWorks storage systems and blade servers through CloudStart. HP will initially introduce CloudStart in Japan and selected Asian countries. The platform should be available worldwide by the end of this year.
