Google has given its smart Glass glasses an update, with the device being equipped with twice as much memory. At the same time, a firmware update will be released that should make it easier to take photos, among other things.

Google Glass now has 2 gigabytes of internal memory, where it was until recently 1 gigabyte, the Glass team has announced. The extra memory should ensure that more apps can run on the smart glasses at the same time and that apps start faster, a product manager from the Glass team told The Verge. As a result, the interface of the smart glasses should feel faster.

At the same time, Google is introducing a viewfinder for the camera app with a software update. The Glass wearer receives an indication on his display which part of his field of view will be captured in the photo; previously that had to be more or less gambled. The company is also adding more Google Now cards, which allow Glass wearers to see where they parked their car and when ordered packages will be delivered.
