GitHub details in a blog post some statistics surrounding the bug bounty program. More than 2,000 reports of bugs were made, of which more than 360 reports led to a payout. Looking at the number of reports per month, most reports were made during our own hacker event H1-512 in June. In total, more than $3.84 million in bug bounties has been paid out since the start of the bug bounty program in collaboration with HackerOne in 2016, including $1.57 million this year alone.
