Gazelle has presented two new Avignon e-bikes with lower suggested retail prices than the C380 version released earlier this year. Compared to the more expensive variant, the new versions are equipped with manual gears and a less powerful engine.

The new versions are 500 and 700 euros cheaper than the more expensive version. The Avignon C8 HMB and HMB Connect both have a Bosch Active Line Plus motor with a torque of 50Nm, slightly less than the Bosch Performance Line motor with a pulling force of 65Nm in the C380. The C8 bikes also have Shimano Nexus 8-speed gears, where the more expensive C380 has an Enviolo Trekking Manual gear that works continuously.

The mid-engine gets its power from a battery with a capacity of 500Wh and, according to Gazelle, that is good for a range of 55km in Turbo mode to 145km in Eco mode. Optionally, customers can upgrade to a 625Wh battery, which lasts 80 km to 175 km and is 200 euros more expensive.

The Avignon C8 comes in a regular version and in a Connect variant. The 200 euro more expensive variant has a bluetooth module to connect the bicycle to the Gazelle app. In addition to statistics, the app is also useful for theft protection. A data plan is included in the price for this, which gives you help with locating the bike. That subscription runs for four years.

The Avignon C8 is immediately available for a price from 3799 euros, while the Connect version costs 3999 euros. The C380 from earlier this year has a suggested retail price of 4499 euros.
