Fujifilm will release two new lenses for the X system in 2018. On its roadmap, the Japanese camera manufacturer has placed an ultra-wide angle and a telephoto lens with a fixed focal point. Fujifilm does not yet provide many details, but it seems to concern bright lenses.

Fujifilm already has a 10-24 mm f/4 wide-angle zoom in its range for its system cameras, but a new wide-angle zoom will be added in 2018. In terms of focal length, it seems to be in the same range as the existing 10-24mm, according to the placement on the schedule. The shadow Fujifilm shows of the lens is larger than the current model. That could indicate a brighter lens, with an aperture of f/2.8, for example.

There will also be a telephoto lens with a fixed focal length. It is probably a 200mm lens, based on its placement on the roadmap. It seems to be a hefty lens, which indicates that it will be a bright lens with an aperture of f/2.8 or larger.

In both cases, these are lenses for the Fujifilm X system cameras, which have an aps-c sensor. It is not yet clear when the wide-angle zoom and teleprime will be on the market in 2018. In 2017 Fujifilm will release an 80mm f/2.8 macro lens with stabilization, which lens had been on the roadmap for some time. Two lenses for filmmakers will also be released this year: the 18-55mm and 50-150mm T2.9.
