Download Firmware Tyan Tomcat K8E-SLI 2.03

Tyan has named for his motherboard Tomcat K8E-SLI (S2866) released a new BIOS with 2.03 as the version number. The motherboard is based around an nVidia nForce pro2200 chipset and can accommodate an AMD Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX, Athlon 64 X2 or an Opteron 1xx processor with a Socket-939 socket. The list of changes looks like this:

Version 2.03:

• Fixed system boot to bios repeatedly once ipmi boot to BIOS’s flag is set
• Set Serial Port 1 default to 2F8 / IRQ3 and Serial Port 2 default to 3F8 / IRQ4
• Fixed error message in Fedora5 when type in “dmseg” on terminal windows
• Fixed system will hang at post code “8B” when inserting adaptect card AHA-2940AU
• Assigned SMDC card to IRQ4 in the OS when an SDMC card is present
• Fixed Opteron 185 and Althon 5000+ PowerNow! functionality when using “AMD POWER MONITOR” utility
• Fixed system hang when capture video from Canopus PCI video card.
• Modified the SMDC M3291 settings to the following:
• Console redirect option [Disabled/Enabled],Default is Disabled
• Baud rate default [19200]
• M3291 IRQs assignment by user

  Com2 IRQs assignation by user * Added IOMMU option
• Fixed Solaris EDD information error
• Fixed SuSE 9 64-bit poweroff will hang at post F5
• Fixed Solaris failing to enter S3
• Fixed hang at 75h if GPT Partition exists
• Updated CPU Temperature reporting

Version 2.02:

• Updated CPU Support
• Updated AMD PowerNOW! support
• Fixed an issue where the system would Checksum during POST without the CMOS being cleared
• Fixed the CPU temperature displays to be more accurate
• Changed Min PWM Ttmperature option from 35/40/45/50 to 30/35/40/45 oC
• Fan speed will run at 100% PWM at 60 degree if auto fan control enable

Version 2.01:

• Updated AMD PowerNOW! support
• Corrected a “RAID Enabled” item in the Bios Setup options
• Added Watch Dog Timer Functions
• Added nVidia RAID 5 support
• Added PCI Latency Timer options into the bios
• Added console redirection hot key (Esc + Esc) to enable BIOS BBS popup menu
• Adjusted CPU temperature readings

Version 2.00:

• Updated nVidia nForce RAID ID support for nVidia chipset drivers v6.66 and higher
• Updated AMD PowerNOW! for latest Opteron CPU support
• Fixed an issue with the nVidia LAN where it is listed twice in the BIOS BBS menu
• Added console redirect 9600 and 19200 baud rate support
• Fixed an issue where Suse 9 SP2 (linux kernel-2.6.12.6 updated) with Dual core CPU’s and 4GB of memory would not work correctly
• Remove BIOS LAN BootROM item , if LAN chip doesn’t exist

NOTE: If you are running a current OS installed with nVidia nForce driver v6.39 and bios version v1.00, you will need to re-install your OS using at least nVidia nForce driver v6.66 and bios v2.00.[break]
