Firmware Update: Synology Disk Station Manager 4.2 build 3254

Synology has released an update of Disk Station Manager for older models from 2009, identified by the model number ending in 9. Synology DSM is the management software that runs on several of the company’s NAS products. Version 4.2 build 3254 obviously brings no new functionality, but fixes several security vulnerabilities, including those in OpenSSL and Samba.

  • Enhanced the stability when repairing degraded RAID.
  • Fixed a security vulnerability related to SAMBA (CVE-2015-0240).
