Download Firmware NEC ND-2500 1.07 beta 8 (Noise)

Herrie has been making custom firmware for various NEC burners for some time now, and today we found on JustCDR version 1.07 beta 8 of Herrie’s firmware for the ND-2500 DVD burners. Among other things, this firmware enables you to burn DVDs faster and ensures better compatibility with (re)writable DVD media. The changelog states the following:

Changes:

• Based on HP’s 1.24 firmware, in order to get better results on DVD+RWs. There were lots of problems reported with HP’s 1.25 firmware. The firmwares based on 1.24 should have less problems (although the problems are still not fully gone!).
• Added support for 8x OPTODISCOR8 @ 8x. Many other 8x DVD+R media work @ 8x now too!
• Almost every 4x DVD-R media works @ 8x now too, hopefully the problems of Beta 7 which only allowed 4x DVD-R media to be burned @ 6x are gone now!
• Added firmware version identification field! DVDInfoPro should show HERRIEB8 as additional firmware version information
